Literature Text

You who stand above my grave
Weep not for me, for I go to a far better place
There is no more pain, sadness, misery
I sleep in peace, surrendered to the darkness
A light no longer burning, holding off the loneliness
Now at one with that I once feared

Do not drop flowers on just turned earth
In a pitiful attempt to mourn my passing
At the edge of a blade of my choosing
Nor post my name in stone in remembrance
A salve to your guilt and hypocrisy
For I remember you not already

Walk away from this place, never return
To curse my peace with your shade
Go back to your excuses for lives
Your lies and prejudices no longer hurt me
Lay shaking in your beds at sleeps' dark doorway
For in your nightmares is where I await
This I wrote a while ago to convey the distaste I felt towards my family's non-acceptance of who I am. At the time my thoughts were very dark and tended towards the suicidal.

Reminds me of "Do not stand at my grave and weep" by.. that poet whose name escapes me right now. I think it was a bit happier though.
